Carolyn Sue Nick, 68, of Harpers Ferry, departed this life on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at her residence.

Born on July 2, 1943, in Bonnie Blue, VA, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Casteel Hawkins.

She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Daisy’s Chapel.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Sue Trevino and husband, Jose, of Harpers Ferry; four sons, Donald Wayne Nick and wife, Angela, of Ranson, Ronald Eugene Nick and wife, Teresa, of Harpers Ferry, and Michael Franklin Nick of Ft. Knox, KY, and David Brown and wife, Judy, of Martinsburg; ten grandchildren, Amanda, Donald Jr., and Brandon Nick, Josetta, Jessica, and Jasmine Trevino, Julianne and Jordyn Brown, and Veronica and Matthew Dillow; and three sisters, Judith Hoffmaster, Joann Redding and Linda Nick.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the Rev. Franklin Nick, in 2008; two sisters, Ida Wilson and Shirley Longerbeam; one brother, John Hawkins; and stepfather, Charlie Shaffer.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, WV, with the Rev. Lester Horton officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery at Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Daisy’s Chapel, 1088 Hostler Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.
