William “Bud” Kingsley Goodrich, 97, of Shepherdstown, WV passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his residence.
Born August 25, 1914 in Shepherdstown, WV, he was the son of the late William Edgar Goodrich and Octavia Edna Hill Goodrich.
Bud was a US Army Veteran of World War II, Pacific Theatre, serving from September 1941 through September 1945. He was a Staff Sergeant receiving the Bronze Star.
He was a member of Antietam Post American Legion and Past Commander of the Turner-White Post American Legion in Shepherdstown.
He loved to garden, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret Cash Goodrich, at home; one daughter, Mina Goodrich and husband, Larry, of Shepherdstown, WV; two sons, Dexter Dale Goodrich and wife, Murleen, of Alamosa, CO and Wayne Goodrich and wife, Donna, of Shepherdstown, WV; one sister, Bernetta Hawbaker of Chambersburg, PA; three grandchildren, Robert Goodrich, Dusty Honn and Michael Goodrich and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles E. Goodrich and Bonsal F. Goodrich.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, US 340 at Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry/Charles Town, WV. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box F, Shepherdstown, WV 25443.
