Charles William “Pete” Dozier, Sr., 68, of Charles Town, WV passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

Born June 28, 1944 in Bakerton, WV, he was the son of the late George Warner Dozier, Sr. and Lottie Virginia Togans Dozier.

He was employed by General Motors in Martinsburg, WV for 33 years. He served in the US Army with the 3rd 506th Infantry Unit and was also 101st Airborne Ranger, achieving rank of SGT, during the Vietnam War.

Pete was a member of the Wainwright Baptist Church in Charles Town. He was also a member of Noble Nile Temple #27 of Charles Town; the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order of the Mystic Shrine, Master Mason of Star Lodge #1, Free & Accepted Masons, Prince Hall, Affiliated, Charles Town, United Supreme Council and 32nd degree Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret, Washington, D.C. and also a member of the American Legion in Charles Town.

He was a 1962 graduate of Page Jackson High School and was an avid sports fan, especially his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jeanette L. Dozier, at home; one son, Charles “Petey” Dozier, Jr., one daughter, Chrischele D. Dozier and the love of his life, his granddaughter, Brogan J. Dozier, three brothers, George W. Dozier and wife, Barbara of Denver, CO; Douglas W. Dozier of Charles Town; Kevin M. Dozier of Keyser, WV; two sisters, Thelma L. Blue of Lanham, MD and Doris V. Dozier of Martinsburg, WV, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Gregory C. Dozier and two sisters, Evelyn June Dozier and Helen Lee Lewis.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry/Charles Town, WV with Rev. Walter Jackson and Bishop Charles Hunter officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm.
