Abigail Lee Kerns, 53, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Born July 21, 1972 in Crawfordsville, IN, she was the daughter of Ralph Fisher and Kathy Christoph.
Abbey was a member of the Roman Catholic Church of St. James the Greater.
Abbey earned her master's degree in social work from Shepherd University in 2007. She worked for the Epic Head Start Program and Family Services for Jefferson, Berkeley and Morgan counties. She was secretary for the local chapter, Bikers Against Child Abuse. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and personalized to all she met. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Kathy Christoph and husband, Chuck and Ralph Fisher and wife, Jenni, she is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Jesse Kerns, Sr. of Harpers Ferry, two daughters, Leah Williams-Kerns and Adrian, and Kasey Connelly, one son, Jesse Kerns Jr. and wife Trinity, six grandchildren, Kayden, Oaklynn, Khaleesi, Renlee Sue, Mariana Lynn and Cameron, three brothers, Jesse Andrew Fisher and wife, Danielle, Jacob Fisher and wife, Angela and Geordan Fisher and wife, Katie, parents-in-law, Martin Kerns, Jr. and Catherine Kerns, mother-in-law, Garnet Vanmeter, sisters-in-law, Alexandra Gold and husband, Kevin and Alyssa Nichols and husband, David, brother-in-law, Joshua Kerns and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Norma and Ralph Fisher and brother-in-law, Martin Joseph Kerns, III.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Roman Catholic Church of St. James the Greater, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV with Father Timothy Grassi as the Celebrant, assisted by Deacon Dave Galvin.
The family will receive friends at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 6-8 pm. A Vigil and a Rosary will be held at 7:30 pm.
