Alec William Carroll, Jr., 72, husband, father, brother and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Harpers Ferry, WV, on July 15, 2026.

He was born November 21, 1953, in Palm Beach, FL, the son of the late Alec W. Carroll, Sr. and June Deloris Unger Carroll.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Carroll; two children, Alec Carroll III and wife, Kelly of Kearneysville, WV, Chad Carroll and wife, Kaitlyn of Summit Point, WV; two step-children, Max Marsh of Rock Cave, WV, Paige Penwell and husband, Scotty of Harpers Ferry, WV; five grandchildren, Heather, Chelsea, Dylan, Kennedy and Griffin; two step-grandchildren, Dillow Hawkins of Tulsa, OK, and Torin Penwell of Atlanta, GA; four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Joey, Ryleigh and Brooklyn; brother, Marshall Carroll and wife, DeDe of Gerrardstown, WV, Candy Wise and partner, Shawn of Martinsburg, WV. Also, two special cousins, Terry Carroll and wife, Karin of Berryville, VA, Julie Moore of Venice, FL; two special brothers-in-law, Jimmy Cogar of Rock Cave, WV, Floyd (Snork) Cogar of Rock Cave, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Billy Wayne Carroll; and two brothers, Kevin and Lester Carroll.

Alec was the owner of Carroll Contracting, he was of the Methodist faith and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed motorcycles, music, car shows, family and friends.

Mr. Carroll was a loyal friend. If you had a friend in Alec, you had a friend indeed.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 2:00 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Reverend Bucky Chapman officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
