Obituary

Alice Faye Athey, 88, of Charles Town, WV, passed into the arms of the Lord on March 18, 2026.

Born on January 9, 1938, in Clarke County, VA, to Garland David McFillen and Margaret Pauline Tomlin McFillen.

After more than 20 years at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Alice retired. She had a deep love for gardening, especially tending flowers, cooking for others and creating beautiful quilts and table runners. Family dinners were always special and filled with warmth and laughter.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Ruth Bell; and brother, Delbert 'Peanut' McFillen.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Kathy L. Titus and Alisa Dillow, of Charles Town, WV; her sister, Wanda Lee McDonald, of Summit Point, WV; her sisters-in-law, Margaret fay Johnson and Juanita Link; three nieces; three nephews; and several cousins, including a special cousin, Lydia Russell. Alice's Circle of friends, particularly Marlene Beck and Nacy Magaha, were like family to her, sharing countless cherished moments.

Alice's life will be remembered not only for her dedication to her family, but also for the kindness and love she brought others.

A funeral service will be held on March 27, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 102, Summit Point, WV 25446.
