Barbara A. Ledford, a beloved resident of Kearneysville, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on October 25, 1942, in Catonsville, Maryland, Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Dorothy and Willard Daniels.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Guy Ledford; her parents; her brother, Bunky Daniels; her sister, Penny Cameron; and her granddaughter, Michelle Duncan.
Her legacy of love and faith lives on through her children: Sherry (Mike) Duncan, Nadine (Scott) Kemp, Annette (Mike) Goode, and Clifton (Valerie) Ledford. She was a devoted grandmother to Mikie (Heather) Duncan, Tabitha (Eric) Courville, Alex (Chelsey) Kemp, Cory Ledford, Katie Clifford, Jason (Rylea) Duncan, Jimmy (Kareena) Duncan, Katelyn (Phillip) Barrow, and Madison Ledford. Her life was further blessed by a host of great-grandchildren, including Ava and Cora Luke, Lilly, Carley, and Abby Duncan, Levi, Owen, and Caden Kemp, Elijah and Anderson Courville, Wyatt Ledford, Savannah and Jacob Duncan, Stetson and Shyanne Barrow, and Adley Duncan.
A devout Christian, Barbara dedicated much of her life to serving the Lord and others. She faithfully taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years, leaving a lasting impact on generations of children. Her love for children was evident in her years of babysitting and nurturing countless young lives. Many friends of the family fondly referred to her as Grandma Duncan or Mam Maw.
Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering faith, warm heart, and the enduring love she shared with everyone who knew her. In lieu of flowers, she kindly requested donations to Faith Bible Church, located at P.O. Box 690, Hedgesville, WV 25427.
A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home in Harpers Ferry, WV, on Wednesday, July 2, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Andrew Hamrick officiating. Following the service, Barbara will be laid to rest at Uvilla Methodist Church Cemetery. All those who knew and loved Barbara are warmly invited to attend and join in honoring her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
