Barbara Lynn Zaccardi, 65, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away Friday June 21, 2024 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV.
Born February 17, 1959 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Renard Emil Zaccardi and Geraldine Benenati Zaccardi.
She was a member of The Canons Regular of The New Jerusalem, where she was very active in many programs.
Barbara was a graduate of George Mason University. She retired from AT&T as a communications technician with 40 years of service. She was an avid quilter, having made many quilts for family, friends and church. She was also accomplished in needlework, and especially gifted at counter cross stitch.
She is survived by one sister, Teresa Shaffner and husband, Hal of Parkton, MD, two brothers, Robert Zaccardi and wife, Elizabeth of Clinton, NC and Stephen Zaccardi and wife, Teressa of King George, VA, nieces and nephews, Laura Shaffner, Ryan Shaffner and Chloe Shaffner and her faithful feline companions, Nico and Aby.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2024 at The Canons Regular of the New Jerusalem, 219 S. George Street, Charles Town, WV with The Very Reverend Daniel Oppenheimer as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery in Harpers Ferry, WV.
The family will receive friends at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 6-8 pm. A Rosary and Vigil will be held at 7:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Canons or to Breast Cancer.
