Bradley Earl Baer Sr., 86, of Charles Town, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2026.
Born on May 4, 1940, in Sandy Hook, Maryland, he was the son of the late Curtis and Luella Baer. In addition to his parents, Bradley was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Monica; his two brothers, Willy and David Baer; and his grandson, Jermey Hardy.
A proud graduate of Boonsboro High School, Bradley dedicated 40 years of hard work to Badger Powhatan, where he held many roles and ultimately retired as a supervisor. His career at Badger sparked a lifelong passion for sand casting, inspiring him to build his own foundry at home. Through his craftsmanship, he produced belt buckles, commemorative city keys for Charles Town and Ranson, and holiday ornaments—many of which are proudly on display at the Charles Town Library Museum. His greatest professional achievement came when he was commissioned to craft the stars for the Statue of Liberty refurbishment project, which still adorn the gates today.
Outside of his work and art, Bradley enjoyed yard sailing, antiquing, and bringing personalized creations to life. He was a lifelong fan of horse racing, the Redskins, he loved classic cars and motorcycles.
Those who knew and loved him will always remember him for: Having the best sense of humor, loving his family more than anything, being a true friend to everyone he met, acting as a second dad to many, being a unique individual, much like his one-of-a-kind creations, never meeting a stranger, being deeply loved by his children.
Bradley is survived by his sister, Virginia, and her husband, Jerrald Hagen; his brother, Don, and his wife, Donna Baer; nieces and one nephew. His daughters, Theresa Powers and her husband, Keith, of Charles Town, and Tina Baer of Charles Town; his son, Bradley Baer Jr. and his wife, Kelsey, of Raleigh, North Carolina; three stepsons, Lee, Chris, and Aaron Gooden. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren—Peyton Edwards, Tori Hardy, Camden Tran, Sophie Baer, and Aiden Baer—and four great-grandchildren—Rylan, Dylan, Kaelyn, and Marcus.
Bradley leaves behind a lasting impression of kindness, art, and hard work in the hearts of all who knew him. Above all, his greatest accomplishments are his children who loved him so deeply.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 12:00 P.M., at Victory Free Will Baptist Church, 76 Amanda Court, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425, with Pastor Scott Truman officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the Church.
The interment will follow the funeral service at Brownsville Heights Cemetery, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Knoxville, MD 21758.
