With unimaginable sadness, we announce the passing of Bradley Charles Reckert, Jr., a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin, family member, and friend, who left this world far too soon on October 1, 2026, at the age of 34.
Born on April 14, 1992, in Leesburg, VA, he was the son of Bradley Charles Reckert, Sr. and Catherine Rose Painter Reckert.
If you knew Bradley, you knew that he didn’t hide how he felt. He spoke his mind, stood firm in what he believed, and loved with that same intensity. There was never much guessing where you stood with Bradley. He was simply Bradley, strong-willed, hated small talk, outspoken, fiercely loyal, and deeply protective of the people he loved.
Of all the roles Bradley had in his life, one of his most cherished was being Uncle Bradley to his nieces, Kabreea and Kalaya. He loved wearing his favorite PUNK t-shirt Professional Uncle No Kids, and he wore it with pride. Whether they needed something, needed someone to show up, or simply needed their uncle, Bradley was there.
Bradley was also the big brother to Brandon Reckert. Like brothers sometimes do, they shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, disagreements, struggles, and finally formed a bond that only brothers can truly understand.
Bradley loved his online gaming and the friends he made doing so. But life was not without difficult chapters. He carried burdens that were often heavier than people around him could see. But those struggles were only part of his story; they were never the measure of who he was. If you needed anything, Bradley showed up.
Those who knew Bradley best will remember his unique sense of humor and unwavering loyalty. They will remember the stories, the laughter, the stubborn moments, the good times, and even the things that drove them crazy, because all of those things together made him Bradley.
In addition to his parents, brother and nieces, he is survived by his maternal grandparents Russell and Patricia Graves of Kearneysville, WV and Mike and Donna Painter of Shepherdstown, WV, very close cousins Dwayne Painter and Brittany Kitchen, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his Paternal grandfather Joseph Reckert, grandmother Nelva Kells, and uncle Joe Reckert.
Bradley’s story does not end when he left this earth. His story lives on in the people who knew him, the family he loved, the nieces whose lives he helped shape, the memories that will be told again and again. Rest easy Bradley. You mattered!
