Catherine Grey Hess, 74, of Martinsburg, West Virginia passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at the Canterbury Center in Shepherdstown, WV.

She was born September 12, 1948 in Hickory, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Lynwood Cahoon and Charlotte Whisnant Cahoon.

Catherine had such a love for animals and she was a firecracker and free spirit.

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Watson and husband, Michael and Cynthia Nicely and husband, Mark; one son, Charles Spalding, Jr. and wife, Cathy; six grandchildren, Katelyn, Michael, Chaz, Madison, Savannah and Brayden; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marsh Magnotti and Debbie Monroe and her first husband, Charles Spalding, Sr.

Services will be private.
