Charles Clayton Gray, 65, of Harpers Ferry, WV, passed away on July 27, 2026, at home.

Born on May 9, 1961, he was the son of the late Charles Nelson Gray and Mary Jane Gray. He was of the Methodist Faith.

Charles retired from William A. Hazel Co. in Virginia after 43 years of service.

He was loved by many, including everyone at his favorite hang-out, Torlone’s.

He is survived by one daughter, Chelsie Gray of Charles Town, WV; one son, Nelson Andrew Gray in Florida; two sisters, Anna Spofford, Patricia Waddell (Alexander); one granddaughter, Mya; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Melissa Portrey; and one nephew, Mark Spofford.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers ferry, WV, with Pastor Danny Nick officiating.
