Charles "June" William Ott, Jr., 70, departed this life Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at his home in Millville, WV surrounded by family.
Born January 31, 1942, in Millville, he was the son of the late Charles W. Ott, Sr., and the late Elda Johnson Ott. He enjoyed fishing, betting the horses, going to the flea market, and traveling to South Carolina to visit his grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea, and received Judo 4th Class (Green Belt) during his time in Korea in 1963. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 32 years of service. He was a graduate of Charles Town High School.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Carolyn Faye Ott, in addition to his son, Charles William Ott III, at home; four daughters, Crystal Chamblin and husband, Scott, of Middleway, Maureen Clark and husband, John, of McBee, SC, Belinda Hunter and husband, Kenneth, of McBee, and Priscilla Ott of Hartsville, SC. He also has 11 grandchildren, Kelsea Longerbeam, Christopher and Andrew Chamblin, Karla Ott, Jonathan, Jeremy and Josh Clark, Gabriella Williams, Caleb, Colton and Conner McIntosh. He is also survived by three brothers, Larry Ott and wife, Olagene, of Harpers Ferry, Mifflin Ott of Charles Town, and Jeffery Ott of Harpers Ferry; one aunt, Noni Painter of Millville; and several nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two children, Deanna C. Ott and Charles W. Ott; and numerous aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Shenandoah Memorial United Methodist Church in Millville, with the Rev. Douglas Fraim officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery in Bolivar.
Family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
