Rinaldi

Charles "Chuck" R. Rinaldi, 90, of Lake Worth, Florida was born in Millville, WV to the late Enrico and Irene Rinaldi on July 9, 1932.
He lived at the Millville home until his marriage to Hazel Moler Rinaldi, on July 25, 1952.
He was drafted in the US Army on January 20, 1953 and served in the Korean Conflict. He separated with an Honorable Discharge on December 28, 1954 at the rank of Sergeant.
He was employed by the National Park Service for 34 years. He began his career at Harpers Ferry National Park. He also served at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Vanderbilt Mansion National Historical Sites and then transferred to the Cape Cod National Seashore as Administrative Officer. Subsequently, he was transferred to the Washington Office of the National Park Service in its Land Acquisition Program. He held various positions here and ultimately held the position of Director of the Land Acquisition Program of the National Park Service. Due to health reasons, he transferred to Martinsburg, WV to lead the Land Acquisition Program of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail at Harpers Ferry. He was admitted to the Appalachian Trail Hall of Fame in the Class of 2014. In June 1989, he retired from the National Park Service. He immediately accepted a position with the South Florida Water Management District, located in West Palm Beach, FL, as the Deputy Director of the Construction and Land Management Department. He held this position for ten years, retiring in June 1999.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 71 years, Hazel Moler Rinaldi of Lake Worth, FL and son, John A. Rinaldi of San Diego, CA. and two sisters, Edith Samson and Patricia Crim.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles R. Rinaldi, Jr. and Sheila Feye Rinaldi; four brothers, Robert, Henry, Donald and Joseph; four sisters, Jeanette Duncan, Phyllis D'Angelo, Peggy Smallwood and Sherry Dugan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 109 W. Main Street, Hedgesville, WV. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, WV.
The family will receive friends at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 6-7:30 pm
