Clayton Anthony Grubbs, 61, of Charles Town, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at WVU Jefferson Medical Center, in Ranson, WV.
Born November 13, 1963, in Silver Spring, MD, he was the son of the late Cecil Grubbs and Patricia Bigoness Grubbs (Long). He was of the Catholic Faith.
His hobbies included singing, crabbing and spending time with family. He graduated from Lexington High School in South Carolina, Class of 1981 and was a 3rd generation plumber for 41 years.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley Grubbs; stepmother, Sharon Grubbs; three children, Christopher Grubbs and wife, Brittany, Catelynn Oden and husband, Timothy, Chelsea Grubbs and husband, William; seven grandchildren, Chase, Ryleigh, Gracie, Paisley, Nolan, Noah and Avery; sister, Cynthia Grubbs-Greer; stepsister, Dee Pugh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Jordan and stepbrother, Gary Alley.
To sum up life in three words- loved, respected and a dang good time!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., at St. James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV with Father Alex Paul as the Celebrant, assisted by Deacon Dave Galvin.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., with a Vigil at 7:30 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America.
