Craig Allen Dempsey, 64, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia passed away Monday, January 3, 2022.

Born April 9, 1957 in Fort Wayne, IN, he was the son of the late John Martin Dempsey and Juanita Pearl Dempsey.

He is survived by his sister, Cheryl "Sherri" L. Dempsey Bartin; one brother, Robert "Bob" S. Dempsey and wife Brenda Banis Dempsey; as well as nephews and nieces, Katherine N. Gay, John R. Dempsey, Jordon T. Dempsey, Jacob R. Dempsey, Kylie M. Dempsey and one grand- niece Lilian H. Gay.

Craig grew up primarily in Keller, Texas. Even though Craig was mentally handicapped, he accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior. He was saved April 27, 1969, and joined the First Baptist Church of Keller, Texas. He was well- loved by his Keller community and church family. He and his mother moved to Harpers Ferry, WV, where he became active in Fellowship Bible Church in Shenandoah Junction, WV. Since 2005, he went to live at a group home near his family, where he received wonderful care from the caregivers at ResCare.

Craig was a special and treasured part of our family, of whom we were not worthy, and we thank God that he is now whole and restored, with his Savior and his mother and father for eternity

Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Van Marsceau officiating.

Craig will be laid to rest beside his parents in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
