Dan Cira, 82, of Ranson, WV passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, WV.

Born January 23, 1941 in Morgantown, WV, he was the son of the late Visili Cira and Valeria Russ Cira.

Dan was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, WV.

He was a US Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was an accountant with the US Government with 42 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda, at home; one son, Alexander Russ Cira of Gaithersburg, MD, three sisters, Nora Bungard, Marian Lynch and Pauline George and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, John and Charles Cira.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Parish of  St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV with Father Timothy Grassi as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery in Harpers Ferry, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm with a vigil to be held at 7:30 pm.
