Danny Houston Barnett, 78, of Martinsburg, WV, died on March 22, 2024, at the Hospice of the Panhandle, surrounded by his family.

Born August 23, 1945, in Richwood, WV, he was the son of the late Daniel Guy Barnett and Thelma Barnett.  He graduated from Richwood High School in 1964 and went on to work for the Department of Defense in Washington, DC until his retirement in 1997.  He served in the Army as an engineer from 1969 to 1971.  He was the co-owner of the Harpers Ferry Flea Market from 1983 to 2016 as well as Barnwell Self Storage from 2000-2024, with his long-time business partner and friend, Ron Nowell.

When Danny wasn't working, and after retirement, he enjoyed cruising the world with his wife.  He loved nothing more than spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn Barnett, one daughter, Sherry Barnett and partner, Gene Linaburg, one grandson, Zachary Barnett, and fiancé Kaity Baumez, one great-granddaughter, Harper Barnett and his beloved feline companion, Lady Di, one sister Linda Watts and husband Marvin Watts, one brother Dallas Barnett and wife Judy Barnett, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Porky Jones officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 10:00 am prior to the service.
