In Loving Memory of Donald E. Ainsworth "Albert"
Donald E. Ainsworth, lovingly known as "Albert," 75, of Ranson, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.
Albert was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who was deeply cherished by his grandchildren. Born on April 3, 1950, in Harpers Ferry, WV, he was the son of Kathleen "Pud" Ainsworth of Harpers Ferry and the late Frank Ainsworth.
Albert owned and operated his own construction companies—DA Construction and F&A Builders—for over 50 years. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and a lifetime member of Charles Town Moose Lodge #948, where he earned his Pilgrim Degree in 2008. He served as a past Governor, past District President, and generously volunteered countless hours throughout the years.
He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Brunswick, MD, and a lifetime member of the Redmen in Williamsport, MD. He was also a member of the VFW, Charles Town, WV and American Legion, Eagles in Brunswick, MD
Albert never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need and was truly the life of the party.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Carla E. Crouse; children: Dewayne Ainsworth (wife Shameka), Angela Kutcher (husband Chris); and stepdaughter Stacey Pierson (husband Keith); son-in-law Justin Barrett; and fiancée Priscilla Ott.
He was a beloved grandfather to Javan Ainsworth, Kyle and Blake Kutcher, Paige Barrett, Dontrez Yates, and Corbin Pierson.
Also surviving are his mother, Kathleen "Pud" Ainsworth; and sisters: Patricia "Sis" Longerbeam (Donald), Brenda Fauble, Christine D'Angelo (Whistle), and Bonnie Harsh (Perry).
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ainsworth; brothers James Ainsworth, Ronald "Milky" Ainsworth, and Keith Fridley; daughter, Whitney Barrett and brother-in-law, Jim Fauble.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Eackles-Spencer & Norton funeral home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, officiated by Dickie D'Angelo. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 18 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home, with a special "Moose Service of Tribute" at 6:00 PM.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pilgrim Charles Longerbeam, Pilgrim Jim Mangold, Pilgrim Glenn Greenstreet, Pilgrim William Mercer, Pilgrim Robbie Cain and Pilgrim David Cheshire.
Pallbearers will be Chad Bryan, Larry Sirbaugh, James Nichols, Ronnie Fletcher, Kenny Mitchell and Dave Haines.
Following the services, the family invites friends to join them for a reception at the Charles Town Moose Lodge.
