Donald Eugene Crown, Jr. (Tink), born February 7, 1961, in Bethesda, Maryland, and most recently residing in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, passed away on June 28, 2026, after a long battle with cancer at WVU Berkeley Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Leslie Ann Crown; his three children and their spouses, Amy and Strock Blackard, Andrew and Toriea Crown, and Adam and Michele Crown; and his four grandchildren, Luke Grayson, Olive Victoria, River Tate, and Anna Marie. He is also survived by his three sisters, Donna Roberts, Deborah Curtis, and Cindy Crown, along with an extensive family including a long list of nieces and nephews who loved and adored him. He is predeceased by his parents, Gloria and Donald (Gene) Crown.
He was a long-time employee of Montgomery County Public Schools and the Maryland Department of Transportation. He was always known for being dedicated to his work and a friend to his coworkers.
Tink was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather who always put those he loved first and supported them through anything. Family has always meant everything to Tink, and each new addition only strengthened the love he felt. As his family grew, so did the love he poured into it. He was always ready to lend a hand, loyal and faithful to the core. He was known for his love of all animals, especially his dogs.
Tink’s favorite thing in the world was spending time with those closest to him, especially his grandkids. He was known for his fabulous sense of humor and always had a way of making people laugh, especially when they were feeling low. The family motto was, “Everyone needs a Tink.” No one was immune to his good-natured razzing or his especially memorable bear hugs. He was the life of the party and never hesitated to put others’ needs before his own.
He was loved by all and worked hard to provide for his family. Above all, he was a devoted father and steady provider whose love and presence shaped the lives of those he leaves behind.
Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
