Donald Thomas Oden, 88, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at his residence.

Born May 12, 1936 in Charles Town, WV, he was the son of the late William H. Oden and Nellie Ott Oden.

He was a veteran of the US Navy and served aboard the USS Northampton. He was a member of Engle United Methodist Church.

He was retired from 3-M after 30 years of service.

Donald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather,  great grandfather and a dedicated longtime helper to Frank.

He is survived by one daughter, Gail Oden and Tommy Laycock of Harpers Ferry, one son, Donald "Frank" Oden and wife, Margaret of Harpers Ferry, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Esther Kidwiler Oden, one daughter, Donna R. Oden Ott, one son, Guy W. Oden, three sisters, Ruby M. Oden, Ermal Oden Ott, Pauline Oden Ott and four brothers, Merle E. Oden, Harris W. Oden, Philip N. Oden and Samuel M. Oden.

Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Rev. Lisa Franzen-Lewis officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
