Donald Edward Zabel, 80, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away July 12, 2026 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born April 9, 1946 in Olney, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edward Otto Zabel and Juanita Pugh Zabel.

He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church.

Donald graduated from Sykesville High School and attended Baltimore Community College. He worked for various companies as a draftsman. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan and loved to bowl. Throughout the years, he went on many mission trips to various countries.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Zabel, two step-sons, Alan Haines and wife, Heather and Mark Haines, two step-grandchildren, Alexis Haines and Daniel Haines, one sister, Jeannette Birger, one brother, Steve Zabel, one niece and four nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Fellowship Bible Church with Pastor Van Marsceau officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship Bible Church, 160 Daniel Road, Shenandoah Junction, WV.
