Donna Elaine Dawson, 70, of Martinsburg, WV passed away Friday, June 5, 2026 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV.

Born April 2, 1956 in Leesburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Garnett Poland, Sr. and Bernice Croson Poland.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Donna was a graduate of Loudoun Valley High School, Class of 1974. She was a business partner and secretary with her husband for Dawson Electric.

Donna was an avid reader and loved animals.

She is survived by one brother, Garnett “Del” Poland, Jr., one sister, Bonnie Huber and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, Bernice and Charles Stallings, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Sidney Dawson.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.

Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Neersville, VA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
