Elizabeth "Betty" Alice King, 79, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 at her home.

She was born December 9, 1943 in Washington, DC and was the daughter of the late Percy Franklin Grantham and Catherine Marie Lanahan Grantham.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Betty was a retired bookkeeper for Decatur Press with 38 years of service. She made friends easily, and talked to people everywhere she went.

She is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Shoemaker and husband, Thomas; one granddaughter, Harley King; one sister, Mary McMahon and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John "Bobby" King; two brothers, William "Bill" Grantham and John "Jack" Grantham.

Services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harper Ferry, WV.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions maybe made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25425.
