Elma Virginia Viands, 93, of Inwood, West Virginia, went to be with God on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
She was born February 6, 1929 in Millville, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late John Runion and Nina Miller Runion.
She was of Methodist faith.
Elma enjoyed cooking, going places, singing, sitting on her porch and loved being around people. She loved her great caretakers Joyce, Emly, Ronnie and Sabrina. She also loved the aides and nurses of Hospice especially Brittany and Kim and the great care they gave her. She was a strong person and the sweetest person you would ever meet. She had a heart of gold, and she will be truly missed.
She is survived by one daughter, Ninia West-Lichliter and husband, Bill of Inwood; three sons, George Viands, Jr. of Inwood, Wayne West and wife, Mattie of Charles Town and Jim West and wife, Sue of Harpers Ferry; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Dick West in 1965 and her second husband, George "Bill" Viands, Sr. in 1993; three sisters, her twin, Alma Hardy, Anna Frances Runion and Evelyn Painter; three brothers, John, Jr., Roy and Paul Runion and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Chaplain Tony Pirrone officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, in Martinsburg, WV.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 11, 2022 form 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
