Emily Joann Viands, 87, of Ranson, WV, passed away on August 17, 2026, in Winchester, VA.

Born on October 19, 1938, at Woodbury Farm, Kearneysville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ada Smallwood Jackson.

Emily Graduated Martinsburg High School Class of 1956. She was a cosmetologist, worked at Newberry’s and became a licensed clerk with the West Virginia Racing Commission. She was a member of the Jefferson County CEOS, Jefferson County Council on Aging and a Den Mother for Pack #39 Cub Scouts.

Emily loved spending time with family and friends, sports, helping and attending her church crafts, at Bolivar Pentecostal.

She is survived by her sons, Clyde William Viands, Jr. and Kevin Viands; six grandchildren, Christopher, Shannon, Sierra, Kamryn, Jennifer, Samantha; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clyde Wiliam Viands, Sr. “Bill”; infant son; thirteen siblings; and step-daughter, Roxanna Viands.

Services will be held on August 25, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Pastor Eric Harding officiating.

The interment will follow the funeral at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, 2938 Charles Town Road, Kearneysville, WV.

The family will receive friends on August 24, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
