We are heartbroken to announce the death of Esther Hafner (Wolford) of Kearneysville, WV, who unexpectedly left us on December 06, 2022 at the age of 74. She was a wonderful Mom, "Mimi", sister and aunt who was always there when needed. She was a role model, a second mom, and an inspiration to many. To Esther, her family, friends and loved ones meant everything to her! She was loved immensely by so many that her presence will be missed tremendously.

She was preceded in death by her partner in life, Mr. Sam Jewel; both her parents, Ira and Bernice Wolford; two brothers, Paul and James (Jim) Wolford; three sisters, Naomi Pearson, Ruth Anderson and Mary Wolford; one nephew, John B. Wolford; a niece, Vicki Anderson, a great-niece, Ashley Walker and her dear grandson, Jonathan A. Hafner.

She is survived by her four sons, John E. Hafner and his daughter, Jordan, Joel C. Hafner and wife, Irene, and their four children, J.C., Jacob, Brandon and Lauren as well as Jacob's two children; James H. Hafner and his three sons, Thaddeus, Wendell and Ambrose; Joseph S. Hafner and wife, Molly, and their three children, Lily, Quentin and Violet; one daughter, Janelle M. McDonough (Hafner) and husband, Eric and their three children, Xavier, Braeden and Keira; her "Sunshine" Kiersten Huffer and son, Brandon; one sister, Martha Payne (Wolford) and one brother, John R. Wolford; six, nieces, six nephews and many other loved ones and friends.

If you would like to pay your respects the family will be receiving friends and family on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 11:00 am at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.
