Floyd Junior Chapman, 88, of Ranson, WV passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.
Born March 20, 1932 in Jefferson County, WV, he was the son of the late Robert Preston Chapman and Mary Magdaline Davis Chapman.
He was a member of Silver Grove United Methodist Church.
Floyd was an US Army veteran, Pvt, 3 rd Infantry Division, 15 th Infantry Reg., serving in the Korean War. During his time in the service he received the Bronze Star, Purple Star, Korean Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Certificate of Appreciation for the Defense of Democracy and Freedom.
Floyd was a charter member of the Blue Ridge Fire Company and Assistant Chief for 15 years.
He was a member of Jackson Perks Post No. 71 of the American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 948, both of Charles Town.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan Rudy and husband, Alan of Knoxville, MD; one son, Floyd Stephen Chapman "Bucky" and wife, Brenda of Fox Glen; three brothers, Louis, Robert and Ronnie Chapman, all of Charles Town; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, two daughters, one sister, two brothers and one grandson.
Burial will be in Silver Grove Cemetery.
Services will be private.
