Obituary

Forrest "Woody" Earl Pifer, 89, of Charles Town, West Virginia passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson.

He was born May 30, 1933 in Washington, D.C. and was the son of the late Ray Forest Pifer and Ida Marion Cole Pifer.

He was of Christian faith.

Woody was an US Army Veteran and retired Sgt. with Montgomery County Police Department with 22 years of service.

He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia L. Pifer; two sons, Matthew W. Pifer and wife, Laura and Steven E. Pifer and wife, Karry; eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren and niece, Wanda (Pifer) Mounts.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Browning; one brother, Richard Pifer; two nephews, Randall and Gary Browning and special longtime companion Frances Scott.

Services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harper Ferry, WV. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, WV.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to service.
