With great sadness, we announce Francis Xavier Campanella's peaceful passing on December 19, 2024, at the age of 86, at his place of residence. Francis was born March 8, 1938, in Washington, DC.

Survived By: Daughter Margaret Simmons, Son Steven Campanella, Daughter-In-Law Courtney Campanella, Son-In-Law Hugh Daniel Simmons, Grandchildren Lily Campanella and Hugh Hardiman Simmons, Sister-In-Law Gale Campanella, Nephew Anthony Campanella.

Preceded in joining the Lord: Mother & Father, Helen Campanella, wife, and Vincent Campanella, brother.

Francis met the love of his life and beloved wife, Helen McAllister, of 25 years, in Chesapeake Beach, MD. Francis worked as a social worker for more than 30 years in Prince Frederick, MD, by helping individuals be better people. Later, when Francis moved to Harpers Ferry, WV, he spent the remainder of his years as a substitute teacher for Jefferson County Public Schools.  Francis was passionate about serving his community by picking up the trash along the highway.  He was an extremely remarkable person and will be deeply missed by the Harpers Ferry, WV, community forever.

The service will be held at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425, on Saturday, January 4th, at 11:00 a.m.
