Gail Jean Lake Brown, 79, of Shepherdstown, WV passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV with her loved ones by her side.

Born April 14, 1944 in San Francisco, CA, she was the daughter of the late Ken Lake and Betty McFarland Lake.

Gail received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology  at Pittsburgh State University in Kansas City, MO, receiving her Master's at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.  She studied one year Elementary education at Sorbone University of Paris, France. In addition, Gail enjoyed counseling and offering guidance to adults and children.

Gail was an avid follower of the Lord and attended many churches, such as  Covenant Baptist, Asbury United Methodist Church and Mt. Zion.

She is survived by her twin daughters, Aryn Stewart and husband, Chris and Robyn Barkdoll and husband, Jeremy, eleven grandchildren, Alyssa, Alyea, Ashlyn, Alysha, Aubrey, Christian, Adalyn, Ross, Brandon, Kaylin, David, one great grandchild, Greyson and two brothers, Rusty and Larry Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dr. Virgil James Brown, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Interment will follow in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
