George Leslie Fitzwater, 86, of Hillsboro, VA passed away October 15, 2026 at his residence.

Born September 25, 1940 in Moorefield, WV, he was the son of the late Adam Andy Fitzwater and Minnie Kurkendall Fitzwater.

He was owner and operator of his multiple businesses and was an ordained Nazarene minister. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and treasured his family.

He is survived by loving wife of 65 years, Lola, at home, one daughter, Amy Holman and husband, Todd, two sons, Scott Fitzwater and wife, Kristi and Andy Fitwater and wife, Teresa, seven grandchildren, Nicole, Hunter, Adam, Aaron, Eli, Aiden and Toby, three great grandchildren, Macalyn, Kennedy and Amelia on-the-way, one sister, Irene Michael, two brothers, Ralph and Bill Fitzwater and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Todd Holman officiating. Interment will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery,

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 from 6-8 pm.
