George "Billy" Franklin Mahoney, 70, of Charles Town, WV passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at his residence.

Born August 16, 1951 in Ranson, WV, he was the son of the late Margaret Virginia Mahoney.

He was of the Christian faith. He was a member of the VFW Post # 3522 and the American Legion Post # 71, both of Charles Town.

Billy was retired head custodian for Loudoun County Public Schools. He was a sports enthusiast and an avid Redskins fan.

He is survived by one daughter, Carrie Pike of Florida, one son, Christopher Mahoney and wife, Ragen of Charles Town; five grandchildren, Madison Gryder, Drew Pike, Madalynn Penny, Savannah Lansdowne and Trinity Mahoney, one sister, Barbara Smith and Theodore, former wife and best friend, Jackie Mahoney and numerous nieces,  nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Penwell, Rebecca Ashby and Susie Burroughs and three brothers, Butch, Bobby and Johnny Mahoney.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Rev. Bucky Chapman officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
