Obituary

George Franklin Quinn, 79, of Charles Town, West Virginia passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV with his wife by his side.

He was born July 1, 1943 in Endicott, New York and was the son of the late Glenn Quinn, Sr. and Orpha Franklin Quinn.

He was a member of Zion Episcopal Church of Charles Town, WV.

George was a longtime member of Charles Town, Lions Club. He owned and operated the Iron Rail Inn in Chares Town for 17 years. He thoroughly enjoyed working at the Summit Point Race Track for 12 years as a flagger.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ruth Eileen Nicewarner; one daughter, Jennifer Quinn; one son, Christopher Quinn and wife, Jodi; two grandchildren; one brother, Robert Quinn and niece Marianne Smith.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Quinn, Jr. and one sister, Gail Smith.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 1-3 pm at the Lions Center in Ranson, WV with Robert Quinn officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Animal Welfare of Jefferson County WV, 23 Poor Farm Road, Kearneysville WV 25430 or to the Charles Town Lions Club, 310S George Street, Ranson WV 25430.
