George "Buddy" William Stocks. 80, of Charles Town, WV passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Shenandoah Center in Charles Town, WV.

Born July 9, 1944 in Charles Town, WV he was the son of the late George Stocks and Florence Sheetz Stocks.

He was of the Methodist faith. Buddy was a graduate of Charles Town High School, Class of 1962, where he played football and baseball. He spent many years as a florist in the family business, Sheetz Florist. Buddy and his mother were avid horseracing fans and owned several race horses through the years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan Gavin Stocks, at home, one son, Robert Stocks and wife, Erica, of Winchester, VA, one grandson, Michael, one brother, Thomas Stocks and wife, Mary of Charles Town, cousin, James Sheetz and special cousin, Nan McDonnell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne League who passed away in 1974.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV with Rev. John Rudolph officiating.
