Glenn Edward
Staubs, Sr.
June 2, 1953 – December 10, 2025
Glenn Edward Staubs Sr., 72, of Charles Town, WV passed away at his home. He was born on June 2, 1953, in Ranson, West Virginia, the son of the late Edward Eugene Staubs and Betty Jane Gay Staubs.
Glenn was a graduate of Harpers Ferry High School and carried a deep love for Harpers Ferry throughout his life, a love he proudly passed on to his children. He often spoke of growing up there with great affection, holding it close alongside some of his other lifelong favorites—sweet iced tea, Whoppers candy (possibly the only person who eats them on this planet), and the simple comfort of familiar places.
He worked at Weis Markets, where coworkers and customers alike knew him as much for his humor as for his work. Some may even joke that he worked harder at making others laugh than actually working. He also enjoyed horse racing and had a practical knack for carrying just about anything in a plastic bag- a small talent that somehow became part of his signature and a detail his family will always remember with a smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary "Manny" Staubs.
Glenn is survived by his son, Glenn Staubs Jr., and his daughter, Chrissy Lewin; his grandchildren, David, Juliete, India, and Violet Lewin, all of Martinsburg, West Virginia. He is also survived by his sisters, Lola Staubs of Florida and Ann Oden of Kentucky; his brother, Robert "Bobby" Staubs of Martinsburg; his sister-in-laws, Marla Staubs of Harpers Ferry; and Monica Sowers of Martinsburg.
A casual visitation for family and friends to gather as they please will be held on Saturday, January 10th, 2026 from 2-4 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.
Glenn's request was to not have a visitation or funeral for him, but in typical Staubs stubbornness, we ignored his last request.
