Obituary

Gloria Jean Potts Sowers, 57, of Ranson, W. Va., died on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at her residence.

She was born on January 10, 1947 at Winchester, Va. and was the daughter of the late William L. Potts and Alva Carper Potts.

She was a retired secretary with the IRS in Washington, DC and Martinsburg, W. Va.

She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church and member of the Harpers Ferry High School Alumni, graduating with the class of 1964.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Donald L. Sowers, Sr. at home; one daughter, Lori Jean Sowers at home; two sons, Donald L. Sowers, Jr. and wife, Mandie of Charles Town and David Alan Sowers at home; one sister, Barbara L. Potts of Arlington, Va.; three grandchildren, Kyle, Dylen and Michaela Sowers and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at 2:00 PM. at the Bolivar United Methodist Church with the Rev. James K. Hamrick officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Memory Gardens at Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 PM.
