Obituary

Jack Albert Apsche, 67, of Shepherdstown, WV passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Veterans Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.

Born September 23, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William Apsche and Lorraine Bichner Apsche.

Jack was a US Army combat veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a door gunner, paratrooper and infantry. He was a professional artist and a published poet. As part of his work as a clinical psychologist, he developed a treatment for adolescents called Mode Deactivation Therapy (MDT), and was consulting at North Spring Residential in Leesburg, VA. He was a professor at Waldon University and authorized numerous publications on MDT and other therapies.

He is survived by his faithful K-9 companions, Pepsi, Francis Albert, Berkeley, Miss MiniMitz (granddog), Bosco and Roxy; his loving wife of 26 years, Joanne, at home; two daughters, Melissa Apsche of Shepherdstown, WV; and Amy Bogansky of New York City; two sons, Joe Bogansky and wife, Renne of Holland, PA and Brian Bogansky of North Wales, PA; one brother, Richard Apsche and wife Bobby, one sister-in-law, Judy Apsche of Levittown, PA and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, William Apsche and one step-brother, Charles Apsche.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
