Obituary

Jacob William Jackson, 46, of Frederick, Maryland, died tragically in a car accident on January 25, 2017. His untimely passing has left a heart-shaped hole in many, many souls.

Jake was born to Richard and Jacqueline Graham in Santa Barbara, California and was later adopted by Betty and Richard Jackson of Ojai, California. Jake is survived by more friends and family than can be named or counted. He grew up in Southern California and went to Idaho for college. He later traveled the world as a flight attendant and made friends everywhere he went. He landed in Key West, Florida for several years, enjoying its warm days, beautiful beaches, and fabulous people. His path next took him to Nashville, Tennessee where he worked for Gibson Guitar. Again, he left his imprint there on many friends and co-workers. In 2013, following his mother's death, he decided he wanted to live closer to family and moved to Maryland to be near his brother, Peter, and his family. He worked for Hughes Network Systems as a senior recruiter at the time of his death.

Jake loved people and people loved Jake. If there was a party going on, he was going to be there and he would be its life. He was quite a chef and could whip up a fabulous Mexican meal. He enjoyed playing rugby and was a huge Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titans fan. Most of all, he loved his family and especially loved to spoil his many nieces and nephews. Jake was everyone's favorite uncle, whether you were actually related to him or not.

Jake has been active with the Fredericktowne Players over the past few years, appearing in Music Man, helping backstage, and coordinating ushers. He was also part of the cast of Bells Are Ringing and was sorely missed when they opened last weekend.

A memorial celebrating Jake's life will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 2pm at Grace United Church of Christ, 25 E. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 20701. Immediately following the service, a reception with refreshments will be held. Jake will be laid to rest in Alabama near his mother at a later date.

The family would appreciate donations for memorial expenses in lieu of flowers. Donations may be made at the memorial, via paypal to jake@myjacksons.com, or via mail c/o Peter Jackson, PO Box 1479, Frederick, MD 20702.
