Obituary

James Edward Harding, Jr., of Hedgesville, WV passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023, after several years battling health issues, at the Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV.

James was born on September 4, 1952 in Bethesda, MD and was the son of the late James Edward Harding and Bernice Pauline Bovey Harding.

He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, son and nephew.

He graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, MD, Class of 1970. In January 1972, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served four years. After his military service, he held positions in mortgage loans, real estate sales and building management. In February 2014, he retired on disability.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Steadman Harding, for over 24 years. In addition, he is survived by his daughter, Amber Pearl Barnette and son-in-law, James Bradley Barnette and  granddaughter, Hailey Eris Barnette, all of Houston, Texas; sister, Gail Yvonne Harding; brother, Brian Keith Harding, an aunt, Mary Ellen Holston and several nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and many loving cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark Steven Harding

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
