James "Jimmy" Lee McDonald, Sr. of Inwood, WV passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at his residence.

Born April 6, 1954 in Ranson, WV, he was the son of the late Dewey Commodore McDonald and Carrie Ellen Harder McDonald.

He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Jimmy was employed by Americast for 25 years and the Ralph Lauren distribution center for 10 years where he loved playing Santa for the children. He enjoyed metal detecting and was a diehard Yankees and Jeff Gordon fan. Jimmy loved his family and treasured the times they had together.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Kimberly, at home, five daughters, Rachel Combs, Talina Altrath and Rob, Tracy Longerbeam and Dennis, Lori Moran and David, Jennifer "Boogie" McDonald and Dante, two sons, James 'JJ" McDonald, Jr and Kevin Francis Gray, 20 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, one sister, Ellen Edwards and four brothers, Gerald, Daryll, Charles and Gary McDonald.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Russell "Dinky" Gray, II, one brother, Dewey McDonald, one sister, Carrie Ann Crum, twin infant grandchildren, Jaycee and Alex Duke, mother-in-law, Anna Louise Luttrell and faithful feline companion, Jacks.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Brent Markee officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Bolivar, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 2, 2023 from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
