Obituary

With broken hearts, we share the passing of Jason Michael Shrader, age 42, of Hagerstown, Maryland, on May 7, 2026.

Jason “Jase” AKA ( John Deere ) was born on July 2,1983 in Martinsburg, West Virginia to Linda Shepherd and Michael Shrader.

A beloved father, son, brother, and uncle, Jase was known for his big heart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his girls. Jase had a passion for caring for animals, loved farming, John Deere tractors and the color green, country music by Midland, and being a father to his girls more than anything in this world.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Shirley Jean Ahalt, Roy Alvey Shrader, and Lorrie Marie Shrader.

Jase is survived by his mother, Linda Shepherd of Charles Town, WV; his father and stepmother, Michael Shrader and Michelle Shrader of Kearneysville, WV; his two daughters Lillianna “Lilly”, Maggie May of Spring Mills, WV; his four brothers, Sean Shepherd of Harpers Ferry, WV, Jonathan Shepherd of Inwood, WV, Christopher Shrader of Kearneysville, WV, Jeremy Shrader of Kearneysville, WV; his three sisters, Ashley Croson of Kearneysville, WV, Chelsea Shepherd of Charles Town, WV, Sierra Shepherd of Charles Town, WV; two nieces, Victoria, Charlotte; five nephews, Peyton, Anthony, Easton, Christopher, and Cameron. Aunts, Uncles cousins .

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 17th, 2026, at 2:00 P.M., at 164 Tel Farm Ln, Kearneysville, West Virginia 25430.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Retirement Racehorse Project made to the Charles Town HBPA. 3357 Hazelwood Rd. Edgewater, MD 21307.
