Jean Elizabeth Courtney, 78, of Ranson, WV passed away peacefully September 23, 2025 at her residence.

Born August 31, 1947 in Ranson, WV, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Alda Willingham Courtney.

She was preceded in death by her beloved longtime companion, Ailean G. Corbin, who passed away on December 28, 2012. She also leaves behind two cherished feline companions, Pee Wee and Mona, who brought her great comfort and joy.

Jean worked for many years at Double Day/Berryville Graphics in Berryville, VA, where she operated equipment used in book production. During her time there, she had the unique opportunity to meet several well-known authors and developed lasting friendships within the Berryville community.

Jean will be fondly remembered by her four brothers, Donald "Bo" Courtney, Jr., Richard "Peter" Courtney, Wayne Courtney and Tom Courtney. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

As per Jean's wishes, there will be no public service and interment will be private. Friends and family may visit Jean's gravesite at Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville, VA.
