Jerry Allen Shewbridge, Jr., 67, of Kearneysville, WV, passed away on August 12, 2026, at the Med-Star Washington Hospital.

Born on July 29, 1959, in Ranson, WV, he was the son of Virginia Shewbridge and the late Jerry Allen Shewbridge, Sr.

Jerry was an avid car buff and was a member of the “Better with Age” Car Club. He was a die-hard Redskins and Mountaineers fan. He also loved all animals.

He retired from the US Army, 157th MP National Guard as a Sgt. He served in Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Operations Noble Eagle. He also worked for Superior Paving for 35 years as an asphalt foreman.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda at home; mother, Ginny Shipe Shewbridge; two daughters, Chastidy “Kaz” Link and husband, Kevin, Holly M. Watson; brother, Richard Todd “Rick” Shewbridge and wife, MaryAnne; one son, Stephen M. Boyd; three grandchildren, Jheri LeAnn, MacKenzie, Landon; one great-grandson, Little Freddy; one niece, Rachel; one nephew, Daniel; special nephew, Chris Thomas; faithful K-9 and feline companions, Scooby-Doo, Lilly Belle, Elsie Mae; favorite aunt, Nancy Shipe; two uncles, Fred “Sidie” Shipe and Brent Shewbridge (Jane); and aunt, Jean Deener.

Services will be held on September 19, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Pastor Bucky Chapman officiating.

Please join the family for a celebration meal after the service at 1:00 P.M., at the Independent Fire Hall, 200 W. Second Avenue, Ranson, WV 25438. RSVP to Brenda by September at 304-886-7509. Any food items may be dropped off at the Fire Hall.

Classic cars are welcome! Please bring your classic car in Jerry’s honor. His Monte Carlo will be displayed inside the circle with his car club gang.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

A luncheon will follow the service at Independent Fire Hall in Ranson, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County, or Independent Fire Company.
