JoAnn Johnson Alexander, 77, of Charles Town, West Virginia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 30, 2025, at Loudoun Nursing and Rehab in Leesburg, Virginia.

Above all, JoAnn was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ. Following the example of her Savior and Redeemer, JoAnn was kind to everyone she met, always seeking to lift others and see the best in them. She brought warmth and humor with her to all interactions. This was never truer than with her own children, for whom she gave everything. JoAnn found peace in her faith regardless of the storms of life she was called to weather. "Not my will, but Thine, be done" embodies JoAnn's life and goals.

Those of us with the privilege to know and love her will miss our dear friend but can also remember the warmth of her love and be excited for her returning to her heavenly home. "Some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend."
