Joe Dan Pennington, 67, of Melrose, FL, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the University of Florida Shands in Gainsville, FL.

Born March 12, 1955 in Charles Town, WV, he was the son of Katheryn Pennington Bradley and the late John F. Pennington.

Joe was a cable installer for American Systems and Maryland Judicial Information Systems. He was an avid Florida Gators and Dallas Cowboys fan. He also loved the beach.  At the age of 60, "Best Buddy" Joe, along with his wife, Bea adopted their 7 year old daughter, Nina. Joe and Bea relocated to Florida this past June.

In addition to his mother, Katheryn, he is survived by his loving wife, Bea; five daughters, Jennifer Perez and  Ray; Beth Pennington, Serena Mills, Krystal Bullock and Matt Helms and Nina Pennington; one son, Jeremy Mills, 8 granddaughters and eight grandsons, three sisters, Mildred McDonough and John, Nancy Janow and Scott and Lauria Mills and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, John, one brother, John M. Pennington, one sister, Emma Pennington and one brother-in-law, Ronald Mills.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Rev. Dr. Edna Overstreet officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 6-8 pm.

Attendees are requested to wear football t-shirts or jerseys.
