John Edgar Brooks born June 11, 1943, died June 29, 2024. He was born in Frederick County, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Erskine and Eva Belle Shirley Brooks, brothers Joe, Bob and George; sisters Peggy Popkins, Mary Lemaster, Judy Brooks and his beloved Daisy "May" Ballenger.

John is survived by his wife, Linda Potter Brooks, children Lisa Fausey (Brian) of Martinsburg and Mark Brooks of Martinsburg. He has several grandchildren, Selina Brooks of Martinsburg, Jami Orlando of Hedgesville, Gregory Orlando of Hagerstown and Brooke Fausey of Hagerstown, Nick Brooks of Martinsburg, Josh Brooks of Martinsburg, David Brooks of Martinsburg and Ben Brooks of Martinsburg. There are also several great-grandchildren Savannah, Nolan, Emma, Mia, Agnes (put accent over the e for print), Bennett, Zaria, Dakota and Gianna. In addition, John is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Witmer of Frederick, MD.

Friends will be received by family at a memorial service on July 12, 2024 at 11:00a.m. at Eackles Spencer Norton Funeral Home led by John's grandchildren. Attendees are welcome to bring food for a shared meal at the Hospice of the Panhandle education wing following the services.

Graveside service will be private.
