John “Jack” Williams, 77, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Hazleton, PA, Jack lived a life filled with love, laughter, faith, family, and friendship.
Jack was the beloved husband of Melodie Williams, his wife of 52 years. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared a love that was evident to everyone who knew them. Jack was the kind of husband who was happiest simply being by his wife’s side—if Melodie wanted to do something, Jack wanted to do it too.
Jack was a loving father to John (Amanda) Williams and Thomasa (Eric) Vandell, and a proud Pappy to Austin (Ciera) Peck, Emily Williams, Kathryn Williams, Anna Williams, and Audrey Vandell. He was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of his Great-Grandson, Jettson Peck, who will forever carry a piece of his Pappy’s love with him. He is also survived by his sister, Mary (Jack) Tolerico, along with extended family and countless friends who were blessed to know him.
Jack spent much of his working life as a manager of several auto repair shops and later co-owned a business with his beloved wife. He was a hardworking man who took pride in what he did and in providing for the people he loved.
Those who knew Jack will remember him as “Happy Jack.” The name fit him perfectly. Jack was friendly to everyone he met and had a gift for making people feel welcome. He loved being surrounded by people and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He never seemed to meet a stranger.
Jack was an avid sportsman, Master Gardener, loved to cook and entertain, believed in our country, but most importantly he loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and spending time with the people he loved. His warmth, humor, generosity, and unforgetable personality left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Jack leaves behind a family who will miss him more than words can express. While our hearts are broken by his absence, we find comfort knowing that he is no longer suffering but is whole and well walking with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jack’s family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate his life.
