Jr.
June 25, 1954 – October 24, 2025
John E. Keeney, Jr., of Brownsville, Maryland, passed away on October 24, 2025 at the Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, West Virginia. Born in Baltimore on June 25, 1954, he was the son of Doris and John Keeney. He is survived by his wife Susan, his brothers Chuck and Butch, nephew Tom, nieces, Cindy, Jennifer, Amanda, Latricia and Annie.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Keeney home on November 1, 2025 starting at 2:00 pm. He will be remembered fondly and dearly missed.
He cared deeply about his friends and family and many pets, especially Maisy and Zippy. He was an avid tennis player, cook, gardener, and author of 'Half a Day Late -The Battle of Crampton's Gap,' He enjoyed playing and singing with his bluegrass buddies. He retired from ABC News in Washington DC, where he received an Emmy and the Edward R Murrow award.
In his life, he has been a motorcycle racer, fisherman, and enjoyed the surf. He was a generous, kind man, always ready with a listening ear and support. We will miss him dearly.
