John Robert Statz, III, of Ranson, WV passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 27, 2024, at the age of 60, due to complications from an ongoing illness.

He also served in the Knights of Columbus, where he became a 4th degree knight, and volunteered with the youth at St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, where he was a longtime parishioner.

John is survived by his mother, Serene Statz, his companion, Carolyn Kolodin, former wife, Katherine Statz, his children, Sarah Elizabeth and Mark David, his stepchildren, Katherine Woodward and husband, Dustin, Sr. and John Kattwinkel and wife Amanda, and his grandchildren, Dustin Thomas, Kalie Grace, Emma Rose, Justice Robert, Layla Belle, Victoria Faith Wenk, Caitlin Brianna, Dylan Carter, Cameron Jayden, Jordan Pryce, and Savannah Paige. He is also survived by his siblings, Matthew (Pia Agostini) Statz, Kimberly (James) Garner, Kristen (Alan) Shifflett, Kathleen Statz, Luke (Sandra) Statz, and Karen (Robert) Nunn.
